Mid Amateur/Individual Low Net Tournament Application
Dates: May 21-22, 2011
Eligibility: The Championships are open to amateur players who are members of a men's club that is a member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association (MPGA) and carry an active GHIN handicap. In order to play in the Mid-Amateur (only), a player must be at least 30 years of age as of May 21, 2011.
Format: ILN: The Individual Low Net (ILN) Championship is a two-day, 36-hole event. This event will have up to 3 divisions based on the number of entries and handicaps. Full handicaps will be applied after adjusting to the slope rating of the golf course. A players GHIN handicap as of Saturday, May 7, 2011, will be used and will determine in which division you will be placed. If a tie occurs for first place, a sudden death playoff (all Divisions) will take place. The Committee may adjust handicaps in accordance with USGA approved procedures. MID-AM: The State Mid-Amateur (MidAm) Championship is a two-day, 36-hole event. This event will be one division stroke play (no handicap). If a tie occurs for first place, a sudden death playoff will take place.

34th Annual MPGA Four-Ball Championship
Location: Emerald Greens Golf Course-Hastings, MN
 
Four Ball Tournament Application
Dates: June 18-19, 2011.
Eligibility: This championship is open to amateur players who are members of a men's club that is a member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association and carry an active GHIN handicap.
Format: This championship will be divided into four flights. The Championship Flight will play with no handicap. The remaining entries will be split as equally as possible using a ranking of combined handicaps into three flights. Each team member will play with 90% of his sloped handicap. A players GHIN handicap as of June 4, 2011, will be used and determine into which flight a player will be placed. The cumulative 36-hole team score (best-ball net of the team from each hole) will be the team's score for the championship. If a tie occurs for first place, a sudden-death play-off (all flights) will take place. The playoff starting hole will be determined by the Committee. Starting times will be as follows: Championship and Division 2 will play Sun. PM, and Sat. AM and Divisions 3 and 4 will play Sat PM and Sun AM. MPGA 60th Annual State Senior Public Links/Senior Low Net Championship
Location: Goodrich Golf Course - Maplewood, MN
 
Senior Publinks/Low Net Tournamnet Application
Dates: July 23-24, 2011
Eligibility: This championship is open to amateur players who are members of a men's club belonging to the Minnesota Public Golf Association, have an active GHIN handicap with that Club, and be at least 50 years of age as of July 23, 2011.
Format: The Tournament will be divided into divisions. The Championship Division (#1) will be elective and played at stroke play, no handicap (gross). A 65/older Championship Division is elective and played at stroke play, no handicap (gross). The remaining divisions will be established based upon the player's handicap and competition will be at net stroke play. The cumulative 36-hole score will be the player's score for the tournament. If a tie occurs for first place, a sudden death playoff (all divisions) will take place. Trophies will be awarded to the low gross winner in the Championship Division and to the low net winners in the three handicap divisions. Merchandise prize certificates will be awarded in all four divisions. MGA player points will be awarded in the Championship Division. Handicaps for the net divisions will be verified by the Tournament Committee and the appropriately sloped handicaps will be used. MPGA 87th State Public Links Championship
Location: Pebble Creek Golf Course - Becker, MN
 
Publinks Tournament Application
Dates: August 21-22, 2011
Eligibility: This championship is open to amateur players who are members of a men's club that is a member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association. You must have a GHIN handicap index of 5.5 or less at the time of entry to be eligible to enter this championship.
Format: The tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event for all entered players (no cut). If a tie occurs for first place for 36 holes, a sudden death playoff will take place. A traveling trophy (The Clasen Cup) will be awarded to the men's club with the lowest team score for 36 holes. Team scores will be determined by recording, for each men's club, the best three scores by its players for each: 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
Threesome pairings will be used for this championship.
Entry Deadline: Entries will be limited to the first 90 received. Entries must be received at the MPGA Post Office Box not later than August 6, 2011.
POWER CART RENTAL: Use of a motorized riding cart for both play is permissible.

26th Annual MPGA Combination Championship
Location: Bunker Hills - Coon Rapids, MN
 
Combination Tournament Application
Dates: Sept. 17-18, 2011
Eligibility: This championship is open to amateur players who are members of a men's club that is a member of the Minnesota Public Golf Association and carry an active GHIN handicap.
Format: This tournament is a 27 hole, one day event. Each two-man team will play nine holes partner best ball, nine holes partner scramble (best shot), and nine holes partner alternate shot. Six divisions will be determined by the Committee based on the number of entries received and their combined handicaps.
Divisions I, II and III will play on Sunday, Sept. 18th.. Divisions IV, V and VI will play on Saturday, Sept.17th . Teams will play within their divisions with no handicap. The partner's handicap indexes may not differ by more than 8.0 at time of entry. Merchandise prize certificates and plaques will be awarded in all divisions based on 27 hole scores. If a tie occurs for first place, there will be an alternate shot sudden death playoff. GHIN handicaps in effect as of September 3, 2011 will be used by the Committee to make division assignments and pairings. The Committee may adjust handicaps in accordance with USGA approved procedures. (See Knuth Points definition on www.mpga.net )

SPECIAL NOTE ON HANDICAPS: If the difference in handicaps changes to more than 8.0 between partners when the parings are set-up, the higher handicap player will be reduced to 8.0 above the lower handicap player and then be put into the correct division.

MPGA State Boys Junior Public Links Championship
Location: Rum River Hills - Ramsey, MN
 
Junior Publinks Tournament Application
Dates: July 26, 2011
Eligibility: This championship is open to all male junior amateur players, ages 13 to 18, on July 26, 2011, who are affiliated with or play substantially all of their golf at a public golf course. The Junior Public Links Championship is a competitive event. Golf experience, including knowledge of rules and etiquette is required.
Format: This event is an 18-hole stroke play event. There will be multiple divisions based on age. Prizes will be given to the low 18-hole scores in each age division. The low 12 players and ties regardless of division will play an additional 9 holes. The Junior Publinks Champion will be the player with the lowest 27-hole score regardless of age division. The Hawkins Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the Junior Publinks Champion. The player with the low 27-hole scores regardless of age division will receive entry into the 2010 MPGA State Publinks Championship, conducted by the Minnesota Public Golf Association, (August 21-22 at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker). Should a tie occur for the lowest score or the 1st place score, a sudden death playoff will determine the champion or the 1st place finisher.
